Marlborough support the DEC Ukraine Appeal

Marlborough Highways are raising money for the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal for refugees of the ongoing war in Ukraine with a matched funding initiative.  Violence is causing people to flee their homes and become separated from their families and many Ukrainians are going without the most basic supplies, like food and water.

Marlborough want to support the DEC Ukraine appeal and raise some much needed funds. Marlborough will match pound for pound the first £10,000 raised via our fundraising page on JustGiving.  What’s more, the UK Government also announced that they will match every pound donated to the DEC through it’s Aid Match scheme up to the value of £20 million. So that means if you donate £10 to our Just Giving page, that will equate to a total donation of £42.50!

This is how the DEC Ukraine Appeal will use the matched funding donation to reach people in urgent need:
• Providing food, first aid, clean water, shelter support, warm clothing, hygiene parcels and medicines
• Supporting hospitals and healthcare facilities
• Supporting fire fighters and civil protection units
• Training people up in life-saving first aid
• Helping families stay in contact with each other
• Educating people on the risks of explosives
• Repairing vital infrastructure
• Helping to repair homes, healthcare centres, schools and community centres
