Marlborough Highways unveils cutting-edge electric van

Marlborough Highways is delighted to announce that is has introduced the London EV Company (LEVC) VN5 Electric Van to its fleet, which is a 2.5 tonne low emissions hybrid model that can travel up to 370 miles on a single charge. The addition forms part of Marlborough’s bold environmental strategy to become Carbon Neutral by 2025 and will serve our brand-new Contract for Islington Council.

With a fully electric powertrain, Marlborough’s new VN5 electric van benefits from advanced eCity technology, offering true low-emission capability. Purpose-built for productivity, the van has a robust aluminium body structure and SMC exterior, with 5.5m³ of versatile load space and features cruise control and a 23cm touchscreen.

LEVC, formally known as The London Taxi Company, is the organisation behind the iconic London black cab. The firm created the world’s first EV taxi in 2017, which was designed and manufactured at the UK’s only dedicated EV car plant in Coventry. LVEC entered the commercial vans market in 2020, launching the VN5, with the model boasting the latest active safety systems, ensuring the protection of vehicle occupants, as well as other road users.

Marlborough knows that operating in a sustainable way is vital for the well-being of the planet, its customers, and the communities in which it serves. The Chelmsford based firm is dedicated to achieving carbon neutrality by 2025, ahead of the UK Government’s deadline of 2050, with an ambitious plan that includes rolling out charging points across Marlborough’s depots and offices, and upgrading its vehicle fleet, and where possible it’s plant machinery, to electric.
