Marlborough has been awarded a four-year contract to provide street lighting and minor improvement works for Haringey Council.
The contract between the London Borough of Haringey and Marlborough Highways will begin in October 2019. It is valued at around £4 million. The contract includes maintenance work as well as reactive and ad-hoc capital work providing essential upgrades and maintenance for the Borough to help improve public safety. Marlborough’s Social Value commitments for this contract include; working with preferred local supply chain partners, recruiting local people for awarded work and using work practices that minimise the negative impact on the local environment.
Rob Stranders, Bid Manager at Marlborough commented “We are delighted to have won this contract with Haringey Council and look forward to working with them. Through the tender process we were able to show our commitment to Haringey’s stakeholders and their environment demonstrating value for money through Quality Service delivery.”
Stranders continues “We are also committed to adding opportunities for Haringey people through our Social Value promises and obligations. We take great pride in giving Haringey people real prospects to work on this long term contract.“
Marlborough will now start to build a project team to work exclusively on the Haringey contract. In addition, they will offer the right mix of industry and technical expertise, practical knowledge and leadership skills.
Marlborough already serves five London boroughs including the London Borough of Havering and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. They have a 25-year experience in every aspect of traditional and contemporary civil engineering work. Street lighting is one of six key business areas for Marlborough; the others being surfacing, highway maintenance, road marking, infrastructure and traffic management.
