Marlborough Highways is inviting local suppliers, SMEs and specialist contractors to attend its upcoming Meet the Buyer event as part of preparations for the start of its new highways term maintenance contract with West Berkshire Council.
The event will take place at Newbury Racecourse on Tuesday 28th July from 9am, and will give businesses the opportunity to meet members of the Marlborough team, learn more about the contract and understand how they could support delivery across West Berkshire.
Marlborough was recently appointed to deliver West Berkshire Council’s Highways Term Maintenance Contract, which will run from October 2026 to 2033. The contract will cover a range of highways services across the district, helping keep roads, footways and public spaces safe, accessible and well maintained.
The Meet the Buyer event will provide an overview of the contract scope, key work areas and how the contract will be delivered. Attendees will also hear more about Marlborough’s procurement, onboarding and compliance requirements, as well as the company’s sustainability and social value commitments.
The event will also include an opportunity to meet members of Marlborough’s operational, commercial and procurement teams, with optional 1-2-1 supplier conversations available, subject to availability.
Marlborough is particularly keen to hear from local businesses and suppliers operating in West Berkshire and the surrounding area. This includes suppliers working across civils, footway works, horticulture and arboriculture, labour and plant, road marking, traffic management, street lighting, signage, surface treatment, vehicle restraint systems, winter maintenance, materials supply, drainage and gully cleaning.
