EKCO Whitecaps Lions Under 9’s Football Club, based in Southend-on-Sea, were looking for sponsorship for their new football kit to kick off the football season. Dave Parker, Marlborough’s Machine Surfacing Vice Foreman, contacted Marlborough to ask for funding as Manager of the team.

EKCO Whitecaps Lions are part of the South East Essex Primary League. Who are a successful football community playing organised small sided football each weekend. The club had managed to fundraise £400 over the summer but still needed additional funding to help pay for their new kit.

Dave Parker commented “Grass roots football is very expensive and unfortunately it’s in decline. I love being part of this club which has so many benefits for the kids. A new football kit costs a lot of money and we needed more additional funding to help pay for it.”

Following Dave’s application for funding, EKCO Whitecaps were given £400 to match what they had already raised. Marlborough are now official sponsors of EKCO Whitecaps Football Club and wish them well for the season ahead of them.
