Recognising Marlborough’s people with the Red Star Awards

Marlborough Highways hosted its third annual Red Star Awards to celebrate the remarkable achievements of Marlborough employees, recognising their dedication, hard work, and embodiment of the organisation’s core values: We know people matter, We are bold, We take pride in everything we do, and We have spirit.

This year’s event was hosted by comedian and “8 Out of 10 Cats” star Rob Beckett, whose humour and charisma delighted an audience of over 200 guests for an unforgettable evening.

Nominations, made by employees for their colleagues, reflected these values and highlighted the passion and expertise that drive the company’s success. This year saw a record-breaking number nominations across a diverse range of categories, spanning Superstar, Most Supportive, Best Manager, Motivator, Excellent Feedback, Keeping Us Safe, Rising Star, and Gang or Team of the Year. There was also a special Director’s Choice Award, with the winner and runner up chosen by the owners, for their commitment to excellence.

Reflecting on the ceremony, Matthew Revell, Managing Director of Marlborough Highways, said, “This year’s Red Star Awards were bigger and better than ever, serving as a powerful reminder that our greatest asset is our people. By celebrating individual and team achievements, we reaffirmed our commitment to the values that unite and inspire us. I was impressed by the quality and volume of nominations, which highlight the exceptional talent within our workforce. Congratulations to all the winners and highly commended individuals, it is their hard work and devotion that drive Marlborough’s success. This was an evening to remember, and I’m already looking forward to next year’s event.”

The Red Star Awards have become a firm favourite on the Marlborough calendar, demonstrating the company’s dedication to recognising and celebrating employee excellence.
