Marlborough invests £4 million in new fleet

Marlborough invests £4m in new fleet as it continues to expand and improve efficiencies.

The roll out of the 135 strong fleet consists of 29 HGV MAN lorries and 106 Peugeot vans. By September 2020, the fleet should be complete and many of the older vehicles will be replaced. As a result, this should save around £2 million over the next 5 years.

The investment will see the civil engineering and infrastructure services company improve the vehicles throughout its surfacing, highway maintenance, road marking, traffic management, street lighting and infrastructure divisions. The vehicle types will include sweepers, lining lorries, tipper grabs, tar sprayers, lighting lorries and many more.

Cameras and trackers are just some of the latest specifications the vehicles will be equipped with. They will have the latest engine technology to comply with Euro 6 standards. This helps improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions, for instance. This factor is hugely important to Marlborough, their clients and the general public.

The ULEZ (Ultra Low Emissions Zone) will expand to cover all areas inside the North and South Circular from the end of October 2021.
