Marlborough Highways is thrilled to announce that Poppy Kennedy has won Apprentice of the Year at the 2024 Highways Awards. It is an outstanding achievement, and the company could not be prouder of Poppy for her hard work and dedication as their Social Value and Sustainability Apprentice. The Highways Awards are the benchmark for excellence in the industry, and Poppy’s win is a testament to her character and the support of her colleagues.

The ceremony and dinner took place at the Westminster Park Plaza in the heart of London, with broadcaster and journalist Clive Myrie presenting. Marlborough hosted a dedicated company table, with members of Hackney Council joining as honoured guests.
Marlborough was also delighted to be nominated in three other categories. Nick Reading, Head of Performance, Sustainability & Social Value, was shortlisted in the Michael Conway MBE Community Leaders award for his exceptional commitment to community values, while the company was a finalist in both the Active Travel and Street Design categories for a transformative project at Ridley Road Market in partnership with Hackney Council.
It was a wonderful evening that brought people together from across an amazing industry to celebrate in shared success.
