Marlborough Highways is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a new seven-year contract with the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, which will commence in April 2026.
Drawing on more than three decades of experience, our dedicated people will deliver a full programme of Highways Maintenance and Capital Works. The scope includes carriageway and footway improvements, bridge and structural works, public realm enhancements, reactive repairs, traffic management, routine gully cleansing, emergency call-outs and winter maintenance.
Social value will play a central role throughout the contract period. Working closely with the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, Marlborough will champion initiatives that create employment opportunities for local residents, introduce new apprenticeships, and inspire young people through school and college engagement. We will also support community organisations and deliver meaningful programmes that bring people together and contribute to shared success across the borough.
Marlborough and the Council share a strong commitment to the environment. From day one, Marlborough will deliver the contract in a carbon-neutral way, aligning with the borough’s long-term environmental vision while advancing our own sustainability goals. This includes the use of low-carbon materials, greener construction methods, electric vehicles, biofuel-powered plant and other innovative technologies designed to minimise environmental impact.
Awarded following a highly competitive tender process, the contract is valued at up to £8.2 million per year. With an initial seven-year term and the potential to extend for a further seven, this award strengthens Marlborough’s growing footprint across London and the South East and reflects the trust placed in our people, our processes and our consistently high standards of delivery.
Matthew Revell, Managing Director of Marlborough Highways said:
“We are incredibly proud to begin this new partnership with the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead. This contract award reflects the trust placed in our people, our processes and the consistently high standard of our work. The Royal Borough is a vibrant and distinctive borough, and we are excited to bring our expertise, energy and spirit to the community. By delivering high-quality infrastructure, championing social value and operating sustainably from day one, we look forward to helping create a greener, safer and more inclusive borough for everyone.”
Councillor Geoff Hill, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport and Customer Service Centre, said:
“We look forward to working together with Marlborough Highways as part of our commitment to creating a cleaner, greener and safer borough. The new contract will ensure the smooth delivery of new projects and maintain the high standard of our road and highways network. This will directly benefit residents and make travelling in the borough easier for all road users.”
