Overview:
As part of London’s cycle revolution, in 2015 the London Borough of Enfield was awarded £42 million of funding from Transport for London. This was under the Mini-Holland scheme. The project involved creating new cycle highways. Which included: segregated cycle tracks, a super-hub, and cycle park areas. This was to make roads in Enfield, Edmonton, Edmonton Green and Green Lanes cycle friendly.
The Challenge
The Cycle Highways project involved a comprehensive 3-year work program to construct 10 kilometres of cycleway in residential and business areas. Key challenges included: minimising disruption for residents and businesses, maintaining consistent site access and coordinating just-in-time material deliveries, organisation of very large teams of shift workers, working in densely populated and traffic sensitive areas 6 days a week and coordinating multiple 3rd party contractors.

The Solution
Marlborough’s large, in-house teams of multi-skilled Operatives and Specialists provided a perfect solution for a project that required several small gangs working simultaneously at multiple sections. Marlborough also organised a management team of 5 permanent staff to lead the project on and offsite.
